Too many depressing VNs

So I think my next VN is going to be something with fuzzy good feels and happy endings. My last 4 VNs have all had terribly bittersweet endings and/or death and mayhem all over. I like those kind of stories, but I don't think my heart can take that for a 5th time in a row. D=

Any recommendations on a good diabetes-inducing sweet VN? Can even be something from my backlog since I'm not too sure on which ones are like that...I WANT TO BE CHEERING AT MY SCREEN AT THE END! Not weeping in a corner.

  1. Alright, here are my reccomendations for light stuff:
    Otoboku
Majikoi (though I warn you, you'll soon be joining the ranks of those of us waiting for Miyako's route to be translated)
    Hourglass of Summer
    Snow Sakura
Come See Me Tonight 2 (the first one's decent, but I consider the second game to be better)
Crescendo (but avoid the secret route since that will leave you depressed)

Story's serious, but the ending is satisying:
Demonbane (though that's mainly Al's True Ending; reccomend playing Ruri's route first and skipping Leica's)
    9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors
    Growlanser series
Zone of the Enders: Fist of Mars
    Ever 17: Out of Infinity
    Yume Miru Kusuri
    Phoenix Wright series

Not sure how your Japanese is, but if you can read it would you like any import reccomendations?

    1. I've played the first three Phoenix Wright games, which were insanely fun. I heard Otoboku was good as well and that it has the sweetness level I'm looking for.

I'm learning Japanese slowly, but right now I can only read basic JP since I just recently started learning Kanji and I'm maybe at a preschool level of understanding, if that, lol. I'd appreciate some recommendations for down the road though!

      Thanks Bookworm :D

    2. Oh, also, is Yume Miru light? I've heard that it's actually pretty melancholy/on the more dark serious note.

    3. YMK does have its share of dark/serious moments (especially Aeka's route), but the good endings are good and satisfying. Your call if you want to give them a try.

Also for english games, the Moero Downhill Night games are pretty light hearted, though I still need to play more of the third game.

As for good and light hearted JP games:
Kyonyuu Fantasy 1, 2 and the fandisk (a second fandisk was recently announced)
      Tsujidou-san no Junai Road
      Magical Witch Academy
      Resort Boin

JP Games with a serious story, but a satisfying conclusion:
Kansen 3 (the only game in the series to end on a triumphant note)
Gore Screaming Show (despite the name, it's not that bad as long as you avoid (I repeat AVOID) the bad endings)

Here are some games that so far are light hearted and good, but I've only just started them:
      Prima Stella
      Sara Sara Sasara
      Shakkin Shimmai 2
      Kyonyuu Majou

    4. Also, would reccomend playing Ace Attorney Investigations and Apollo Justice, the former because it's just as fun to play as good old Edgeworth and see what antics he gets drawn into without Phoenix around, and the latter because while it does get a bit of a bad wrap amongst the fanbase, for me it has enough enjoyable moments that you'd expect of the series to make it worth playing
