Yumina The Ethereal Walkthrough (Work in Progress)

I'll be putting together this walkthrough as I go along the game.  I'm making this public before I finish the game since I've heard that quite a few people (myself included) have been having some issues with getting the optional h-scenes at the end of each chapter. A member on the MG forums stated that to get the optional h-scenes, you need to do a chain of events in each chapter to get a special skill for Ayumu, which unlocks the optional scenes after the chapters debate battle. Another member ended up linking to a Japanese walkthrough for me, and it's pretty understandable. (Thanks Dark_Shiki and RusAnon!) I'm going to be translating the walkthrough as I go along so I can verify I understood the sequences right.

Japanese Walkthrough: http://omoteura2.com/yumina/

Even if you're not interested in the optional h-scenes (Even if you unlock them, you are not forced to watch them), Ayumu's chapter skills tend to be very powerful against the chapter's bosses, so they're very handy to unlock. Theres a bunch of additional supplemental information, but for now I'm just going to translate and post the event sequences to get Ayumu's special chapter skills for the optional scenes.

9/05/13: Added chapter 3 walkthrough, along with an alternate route.
9/06/13: Added chapter 4 walkthrough, along with an alternate route. Notes and testing skill carry over soon.
10/14/13: Added some information given by a commenter on how to use this walkthrough to get a specific girls route. Theres also info on my latest blog post about the future of this walkthrough.

I know people have been having issues with getting specific routes using my current walkthrough. A fellow poster who has gotten the True End by tweaking my walkthrough slightly has been kind enough to let me know how they did it using my walkthrough and has given me permission to post this up. Use this formula combined with my walkthrough below to get on each girl's routes.  Credit goes to Me Carana for this information. Thanks! (The highlighted portion is their information)

Chapter 1: Choose girl you want to do route's on day off.

Save at the beginning of Chapter 2. If you don't get the route you want, you can just reload and try another sequence.

Chapter 2: Choose girl you want to do route's on day off.

Chapter 3:
If you want to do Yumina's route, take the alternate sequence. You don't get Independant Heart and the porn.
If you want to do Ai's route, take the main sequence.
If you want Kirara, take the main sequence.
Visit the girl you want on Holiday.

Chapter 4: Main route worked for all three for me.

You can know which girl's route you have by advancing in Chapter 5.
Early in the chapter, this happens:

Kirara's route: She attacks Galeorn and Deele kicks her ass.
Ai's route: Ai is quick to talk to you once you awake in your room. Extra check: During an event (days remaining), she teaches Ayumu how to hold a gun.
Yumina: You fight extra dimensionals scouts (the ground "dinosaur" type) on the ship.

  • Chapter 1 (Library Committee/Maino)
I'm not going to bother translating or posting up a walkthrough on this chapter for now.  This chapters pretty easy, and as far as I can tell its basically impossible to miss the required events since there are not many choices.  Eternal probably made it easy as a way to ease players into the system.  If you have questions on this chapter, or really want me to post a sequence for this chapter, let me know.

  • Chapter 2 (Sports Club United/Tomori)
    • Day 1: Clubroom, Clubroom
    • Day 2: Hallway, Clubroom
    • Day 3: Clubroom, Library
    • Day 4: School Store, Hallway (Rei/"Overlord Rei")
    • Day 5: Clubroom (Setting/"The Soft Serve Principle"), Gym

  • Next selection doesn't matter/count (Where you only have three options, one for each girl) on your daily event tally.  I believe these might have to do with which character route you want to go on, so pick the event corresponding to whose route you want to do.

    • Day 6: Classroom, Old Building
    • Day 7: Classroom, Library
    • Day 8: Hallway (Ai), Girl's Dorm
    • Day 9: Classroom, Library (You get Ai's "Piercing Choice of Words" skill from this event)
    • Day 10: Cafeteria (You get Ayumu's "Sister Blade" from this event), Clubroom (Training)

  • Notes:
  • -I would suggest training to at least level 8 before you face Sports Club United.
  • -Floor 10 of Marane's Maw has a Green Distortion (HP and Skill heal) and a boss fight (Boss does not respawn. The boss distortion does, but its a normal fight)
  • -I easily got to level 8 in about an hour casually exploring Marane's Maw up to level 10, getting the green distortion then doing the boss fight, and then exploring up to level 5 in Mizelt Tomb.
  • -I would advise not going into Mizelt Tomb until you're at least level 7.

  • Chapter 3 (Shrine Maiden Committee/Sakaue Sisters)
    • Day 1: Clubroom, Clubroom (Kirara/ "The Dangers of Habit")
    • Day 2: Shrine, Roof
    • Day 3: Clubroom (Setting/ "It's All Up To Him"), Roof
    • Day 4: Shrine, Roof
    • Day 5: Shrine, Library

  • Character route specific event again like in Chapter 2.

    • Day 6: Classroom, Clubroom (Ai/ "By Whatever Means Necessary")
    • Day 7: Clubroom (Setting/"The Sakaue Family Secret"), Roof
    • Day 8: Shrine, Roof (Ayumu's "Independent Heart" skill)
    • Day 9: Principal's Office, Clubroom (Training)
    • Day 10: Library (Ai's "A Girl's Dream, Retold" skill), Clubroom(Training, Optional)

    • Alternate Route: (Ai, Kirara, and Yumina Skills)
    • Day 1: Clubroom, Hallway
    • Day 2: Shrine, Clubroom (Yumina/"The Debate Club On Stage")
    • Day 3: Clubroom (Setting/ "It's All Up To Him"), Roof
    • Day 4: Cafeteria, Roof
    • Day 5: Library, Clubroom (Kirara/ "The Dangers of Habit")
    • Character route event
    • Day 6: Entrance, Clubroom
    • Day 7: Hallway, Clubroom (Kirara's "Glint In The Dark" Skill)
    • Day 8: Clubroom (Ai/ "By Whatever Means Necessary"), Courtyard
    • Day 9: Cafeteria, Principal's Office
    • Day 10: Library (Ai's "A Girl's Dream, Retold" skill), Entrance (Yumina's "Soulful Penetrating Will" skill)

  • Notes:
  • -You will not get Ayumu's "Independent Heart" skill going the alternate route, thus you will not get the optional h-scene at the end of the chapter. (I'm not sure if you can get it from appraisal of dungeon skill items and if all you need is the actual skill for the scene).
-The alternate route gets you Ai's, Kirara's, and Yumina's special skills. (You get Ayumu's and Ai's going the main route)
  • -You will also not be able to do any dungeons in the alternate route.  However, you will do several debate fights (I got to level 11 on the alternate route and my weapons upgraded); The final fight will be a bit harder than the main route.
  • -If you're having problems with healers, save up blue points for Ai and then use her as your forward. Use her "Piercing Choice of Words" to mow the healer down quickly.
  • -If you go the main route, aim for level 13-14.  This will make the chapter fight much more easier.
  • -There is a green distortion located on floor 15 of Marane's Maw and level 8,9, and 10 of Mizelt Tomb
  • -The quest "Seven Goblins" (Follow up to Ice Mushroom quest) is good exp since all of the goblins are Hyper fights.
  • -I managed to get to level 13 in the first training session by doing the boss fight on level 10 of Mizelt Tomb, then going to Marane's Maw to do the Seven Goblins quest and explore up to floor 20. Took a couple hours but you HAVE to exploit those green distortions to be able to do all that in one visit.
  • -The Training session on Day 10 is optional if you feel comfortable with your level at that point.

  • Chapter 4 (Student Council/Nayuta)
    • Day 1: Hallway, Clubroom (Setting/ "Impregnable Fortress")
    • Day 2: Gym, Clubroom (Kirara/"Agent Ayumu")
    • Day 3: Gym, Hallway (Nayuta/"Sneaking Mission")
    • Day 4: Girl's Dorm, Gym
    • Day 5: Library, Gym
    • Day 6: Library, Classroom
    • Day 7: Courtyard, Cafeteria
    • Day 8: Roof (Choose "I Can't Make Any Promises"), Classroom
    • Day 9: Clubroom (Setting/"I Just Don't Get It")(Ayumu's "Absolute Horizon" skill), Clubroom (Yumina/"Let Me Sing")(Yumina's "Liars and Scars" skill)
    • Day 10: Clubroom (?/"It Was a Long Time Ago"), Clubroom (Kirara/"The Future She Envisions")( Kirara's "Reminiscence of the Future" skill)
    • Alternate Route: (Ai, Yumina, and Kirara's skills with one "free" day. Also has an optional Kirara CG)
    • Day 1: Hallway, Hallway
    • Day 2: Cafeteria, Gym
    • Day 3: Gym, Classroom
    • Day 4: Courtyard, Cafeteria
    • Day 5: Classroom, Clubroom (Setting/ "It's All Up To Him")
    • Day 6: Clubroom (?/"It Was a Long Time Ago"), Library
    • Day 7: Clubroom (Kirara/"Agent Ayumu"), Roof (Ai's "Youth, The Time to Find Oneself" skill)
    • Day 8: Clubroom (Yumina/"Let Me Sing")(Yumina's "Liars and Scars" skill), Clubroom (Kirara/"The Future She Envisions")(Kirara's "Reminiscence of the Future" skill)
    • Day 9: Clubroom (Training), Old Building (Optional for Kirara CG)
    • Day 10: Clubroom (Training, Optional), Your Choice
  • Notes:
  • -On Day 8 you MUST choose "I can't make any promises" in the Nayuta "Flatline" event on the roof.  If you pick "I'll keep it a secret", you WILL NOT get Ayumu's "Absolute Horizon" skill from the setting event.
  • -There is no character specific event before day 6 like in chapters 2 & 3.
  • -There is NO wiggle room in the main route if you want to get Yumina and Kirara's skills, as in there is no chance you can go do training without sacrificing getting either Yumina or Kirara's skill.
  • -You will not get Ayumu's skill in the alternate route. In the main route, you will not get Ai's skill.
I'll finish up my notes later. I skipped through all of the dialogue to test the chapter 4 walkthrough.  I will also test to see if event skills stay with you if you lose the main debate fight and start back at the beginning.  If it doesn't, chapter 4 is going to be a bitch since the JP walkthrough suggests you be level 18 for the fight.

  2. Thank you very much :) The firt time i missed all the special's skills and H-scenes but Maino's and i tried two times more to get tomori's but i failed then. I really need this one.

    But one mistake.
    Chapter 2 (Sports Club United/Tomori)
    Day 8 Hallway (Ai)
You really need to choose her that day if you want to get Ai's skill on day 10 "Piercing Choice of Words". But it doesn't matter who you chose on day 5.

    1. Also someone told me that you can re-try the chapter from the begining if you loose the final debate battle and keep everything. I have tried it since i was level 9 in chapter 2 and it worked, so is possible to get the abilities for each heroine this way unless that only those abilities banish when you go throught an other route.

    2. Ah, thanks Light! I didn't notice that selecting Yumina didn't get Ai's skill, I just tested her selection real quick to make sure the required options for the next day came up, I'll fix that. And yeah, I was having a hard time with Tomori too, I had to restart from the beginning of the chapter.

As far as I could tell from my alternate checking, on day 5 you need to do the Setting choice in the clubroom.

I'll have to test that theory tomorrow to see if you can keep the special event skills. I'm wondering if they might carry over into subsequent playthroughs as well.

I'll try to get the walkthrough done as quick as I can. I'm hoping to have Chapter 4 up in the next hour or two, but if theres alternate routes I'll check those out later. Just got into it so I'm going to skip through all the dialogue just to get the walkthrough up, then go back to actually read it all.

The Japanese Walkthrough shows 9 chapters plus the ending, but it looks like an event walkthrough is only needed for the first 4 chapters. I'll probably add notes about the subsequent chapters if need be.

    4. Thanks Light! I'll add that to the notes and credit you for it since you tested it :)

  3. Can you add/combine your walkthrough with this *one? The later has a more detailed daily-events and can be helpful to unlock some hidden scenes (like the assasin scene from the las day of the first chapter).

  6. I'm not sure how extensive you plan on making this walkthrough, but here's some additional information that I've worked out.

I know you've been using the Omoteura2 walkthrough for information - as have I been doing myself - but I've also been using these two websites for information; particularly about each character's upgradeable "weapon equipment" which requires a set amount of skill level in a variety of skills. And I've been using them to find out about the actual equip-able items that are character specific which are earned in the "Ordacle world".

There's a few different types, similar to the "weapon abilities" listed below.. but the major difference is that these can be equipped, whereas the list below is different (you unlock the first of a set and are "locked" onto that path and must upgrade it). These are items similar to other items which can be equipped. They are found unidentified while you are in the Ladda/Ordacle world; the ones you'll likely encounter early on are called: "? Sword", "? Doll", "? Red Rock" and "? Gun". These become "Red Hot Sword" (+80SpAtk, +70SpDef), "Creepy Doll" (+60SpAtk, +85LgDef), "Red Glowing Stone" (+90LgAtk, +50LgDef), and "Old-Style Element Gun" (+75LgAtk, +75SpDef).

However keep in mind that there are several types of these items, with the other one most common boosting Spirit/Logic Attack/Defense by a flat % and the first one you will likely come across is a 5% boost.

This page linked here lists the various character-specific items, of which the above two paragraphs discusses (keep in mind these are NOT what I am calling the "weapon abilities", which can not be changed unlike the ):

    http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/item02.html#item16

There's four types of "weapon abilities": Offensive, Defensive, Balanced, and 'Ethereal'. They all explain themselves, but the last one - Ethereal - is similar to a weak version of the Balanced version but it also boosts the 'Ethereal Power' stat.

Here's an example page (shows Ayumu) which shows the benefit and prerequisites of each of the various 4 types:

    http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/character01.html

You can look at the other pages to see their specific bonus and requirements as well. I use it a lot, myself, along with the Omoteura website.

Lastly, this link is what I use for what is essentially a page that has all 4 main characters' prerequisites for the 4 specific "weapon abilities" bonus and how much each bonus is:

    http://www20.atwiki.jp/yumina/pages/78.html

The information on the atwiki page is also on the hazama pages, but since the atwiki has it condensed onto a single page I like to use it for JUST that one part (which discusses the "weapon abilities", how to unlock them, and the various prerequisites).

I am also compiling some information of my own, so if you need anything let me know. I would advise you to get a browser extension which can help you decipher Japanese on mouseover, but I imagine you are already using it or know Japanese itself. (On firefox the addon I use is called Rikaichan+Rikaisama)

    Good luck on your walkthrough.

  8. Thought I would update my previous post a little more. When you upgrade a weapon into one of the four paths (either Offensive, Defensive, Balanced or Ethereal) it will stack on top of your level-based weapon's stats ("weapon abilities"), which is what it's called in-game under the equipment window.

For example, my Ayumu's weapon gives him +400hp, +140 Logic/Spirit attack, and +10 Logic/Spirit defense. This is because my Ayumu is using the 'Offensive' set. Since my Ayumu is level 28, the 'base' amount for his weapon is +400hp, +30 Spirit/Logic attack, and +10 Spirit/Logic defense. Since Ayumu's "Offensive weapon" is currently at 'level 2', the bonus I get is +110 to Spirit/Logic attack. (For reference, at level 1 it gave a +50 bonus to spirit/logic attack)

I have Yumina use a Defensive set, while Kirara and Ai both have a Balanaced set... although at first I had no idea what was going on when my Kirara and Ai suddenly had their first "weapon upgrade" around level ~11-13 or so, which is when I looked it up and decided to give Ayumu offensive and Yumina defensive. It was mostly luck that I got the 'Balanced' set on Kirara and Ai.

I gave you a link to Ayumu's character page which shows the various boosts that upgrading his weapon has, along with the boost you get every X1 level (11, 21, etc). I just thought I would give you - and anyone else who comes across this - a link to each character's page to simplify things.

    Ayumu - http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/character01.html

    Yumina - http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/character02.html

    Kirara - http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/character03.html

    Ai - http://www.hazama78.net/yumina/character04.html

I've already finished a chart detailing how to unlock Yumina's "Defensive weapon" and Ayumu's "Offensive weapon", but after I beat the game (later today) I'm going to start working on charts that list the prerequisite skills and skill levels required to unlock the 4 "weapon types".

If you want to use the information, I would gladly give it to you as long as I get listed as a contributor or what-have-you.

Once again, good luck and have fun.

  9. Okay, so I got all H-scenes except the one on the right side of Nayuta H-Scene in the Memory menu. I know it's supposed to be Yumina's scene, but I didn't get that one. And I already finished all 3 routes + True Ending. How can I get that one scene?

  12. @elfenlied: No, it doesn't matter. It simply opens up Maino's h-scenes.

@darkseid: The route you end up on is a combination of (spending the majority of free days with X girl) and (unlocking a lot majority of said girl's skills from story-events). This can be hard to tell, since the game doesn't tell you what route you are on until.. Chapter 7, or so. As long as you are "biased" towards one girl by prioritizing her during free days, you should get onto her route.

Also, I'd like to update my previous posts. Apparently you CAN jump from one "type" of 'weapon ability' to another - my Yumina, who was on the Lv2 Defensive path, somehow warped into Lv3 Balanced path upon leveling up my skill. (Ayumu and the others leveled up their weapons normally). For those that are curious, the name of Yumina's level 2 Defensive weapon was "Cloudille" and her level 3 Balanced weapon is "Evolution Sceptre".

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what. I didn't think you could "jump" weapon types like this to begin with, but maybe I was wrong... but why did this happen to begin with? I was following the chart that I had constructed for the Defensive path, and all 'upgrades' simply require more skill levels in the the skills that unlocked said 'type' in the first place. I'm REALLY confused at this point...

And I've found out that those character specific items (like Red Glowing Stone and Old-Style Element Gun) DO stack, as the game lets you equip more than one of them. As a matter of fact, my Kirara has 3 Red Glowing Stones.. lol.

Good luck, everyone. This game confuses me more and more as time passes...

    4. The way it works is that you can get any weapon type, so long as you haven't gotten the final evolution. Meaning you can do Offensive for all but the last one, then switch to ethereal by meeting those conditions first.

  13. Hi, I have a question, in chapter 3, I followed the main route, got the Independent Heart skill, yet I did not get the h-scene, did I do something wrong?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You do have to actually use the skill during the battle. Most likely on one of the sisters as well. It's not enough to just have the skill available. I was not able to get Nayuta's hscene despite having Absolute Horizon until I used the skill during the fight. Maino's fight is the only exception to this rule, as you do not actually get a front-line skill for Ayumu. In general, if you want the scene, you do need to use whatever active skill you acquired for Ayumu during the fight.

      Delete
    2. What Paul said is correct; You must actually use the skill at least once in battle.

      Thanks for answering them Paul.

  14. @Mylen
The girl's route you are on diverges in chapter 5. It isn't terribly obvious which one you are on, however, unless you've completed all the routes before. The silhouette also gives it away. Now, I can't be certain cause I didn't pay too much attention to it, but I THINK the girl whose route you are on is the one who wakes you up on your first day on the Zelerm. I know for a fact Ai wakes you on her route and so does Kirara, not sure on Yumina.

    @Unknown.
To unlock an H scene you have to actually use the skill on the end boss. For chapter 3 you do not need to use it on both sisters, but you do need to hit one of them with it at least.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This is to verify that the girl who comes to your room to wake you is in fact the one you are on the route of.

Went back and did a playthrough of yumina to check.

  15. Hi all, hope you can help me here.

I'm at level 7 and level up skills via the abilities page. My question is, why can't I equip those new skills in the chara skills slot? Is it due to corrupted data/bad install?

    Thanks.

    1. You get skills from:
      -Events
      -Drops in the Ordacle
-Buying them in the item store

The Abilities page simply allows you to equip them, you have to actually obtain the skills first.

    3. One thing that is confusing as well, is that there are far more abilities than your talent tree will suggest. In hard mode you start to see hybrids where they have the sub-abilities tacked onto a main ability, and the entire ability/name will be different.

  16. This is confusing, I just want Kirara route since no way I am doing the whole dungeon bullshit over again and again.

    Replies
    1. The dungeons are on all the characters, and going a new route by using a NG save does not reset your dungeon progress. You have to complete all available main story quests in the ordacle on each difficulty to reach the end anyways, so may as well grind em out while you're completing the character routes.

Because during the demo i didn't get one of maino's cg but playing it now i see where it is but then i ended up not unlocking yumina's idol skill through the story.

  19. How do you get all the H scenes and make sure you get the skills needed while making sure you get on the route you want? For example there are a lot of Kira events but if you follow your walkthrough to get the skills wouldn't you miss them? I want to get on Karia route but want to get all the h scenes at the same time.

    1. I have yet to test this, but from what I've heard, what route you go on mainly depends on who you spend your "free" time with and who's even you do on the "uncounted" events between morning and afternoon events on day 6 in chapters 1 and 2. I'll let you know when I find out more on this.

    2. oh no.. chapter 1??? I don't remember what I did than....

      Delete
    3. Yeah, theres a section of both chapter one and two during day 6 that has no day or time counter on the top with only three choices that arn't found at any other time during the chapter; One for each girl. I'm pretty certain who you do these events with corresponds to whose route you end up going on.

    4. Oh wait, sorry, I typoed and messed up on that (Need my coffee). It's chapters 2 and 3, not 1 and 2. I don't recall one in chapter 1, I'll double check here for you today. I'm pretty sure I remember there isn't one in the first chapter since Ai doesn't show up till the 2nd.

    5. Yeah 1 is like that as well i was kinda confused by it but i understand now.

    6. Chapter 1 has a choice day between Yumina and Kirara, but there are two more choice days that you can spend on the lady of your choice. When playing any chapter but 2, you have to balance your desire for H-scenes/Main hero abilities (focus on the main boss's scenes and use their ability against them in the boss bottle), teammate abilities (focus on their scenes), optional CG (mainly teammate scenes), and dungeon training, because you only get 20 pathways and there's about 27-30 total choices you could make.

The only way around that is to use Cheat Engine to modify the current day, and that will allow you to get all abilities and CG in one playthrough (which if they are making you do two extra playthroughs on different difficulty levels, doesn't seem that unfair to me.)

    2. ...
      memorize map design ...
every 10 level, each dungeon will load special map room just for that dungeon (there's several variation tough)
      preparation ...
Lv 6 for certain dungeon, and at least 1 glasses (consumable item) which can reveal fake distortion ...
certain jar (consumable item) for instant escape the dungeon ...
      1. save before enter ...
      2. choose lv 6, 16, 26 etc
      3. reach lv 10, 20, 30 etc
      4. if you sure that map at least have 1 greed distortion, then use the glasses (don't have to if you have good memory)
      but if not, reload ...
      5. either you fight the boss for escape (after you access the green distortion, or you choose jar ...

*have note, some boss map don't have green distortion at all, some have, and few even have more than 1 green distortion, so please memorize it even for a little bit (hoping someone make map list at wiki or something)

you can save more money if ...
      1. you have strong memory (don't need glasses)
      2. you able to defeat the boss for that map (don't need the jar)

      Delete
    3. ...
I need to add something ...
at higher level (hard or more) the map usually NOT have green distortion, and the green distortion including exit distortion get randomized ... so that glasses thingy will be VERY crucial ...
TRICK TO LOCK ON DEEPEST PART OF MAP ...
      1. need a good supply of money, if you can already reach floor 30, and more, then it will be okay (Hard Mode is advised since you get TONS of money just by selling Access)
      2. Buy TONS of glasses and Mirage Jar ... add some 4 clover or rabbit legs too if you want (don't buy too expensive one, it's quite useless) ... hunt item which can restore your skill amount usage (don't buy it if you can ... it's expensive ...)
      3. prepare :
      - max amount of 2 type healing item IN BATTLE ...
      - max amount of 2 type healing item OUT OF BATTLE ...
(cheapest one you have, again try not to buy it ... one type for each if you feel can handle easily the enemy at that floor ...)
      - Max amount of Glasses, and at least 1 Mirage Jar
      - Max amount of Item which can restore your skill, weakest one (preferably Mushroom Potion, and try not to buy it and hunt stronger one)
      4. climb to highest possible level (-1) so in case the highest at that moment is 30, then stop at 29 ...
      5. "save and exit" at the exit of 29, when you resume, you will be in 30 (return back at title if you notice the map don't have green distortion)
      6. plan your advance,
      - open path for green distortion ...
      - fight all the time until the skill for each character about depleted by 40% ... (if HP get depleted early, use healing item)
      - use green distortion (which heal 40% amount of skill usage and heal HP too)
      - use Mirage Jar ...
      7. back in outside ...
      - SAVE FIRST !!! this game have few crash problem, don't let it mess up your hunt result
      - put your loot at Warehouse
      - back to step 3 ...

because of this trick, I can hunt boss floor and obtain multiple UNIQUE accessories for each character ... and unique skill too for each character ... (end up with super power character, and no matter difficulty I can easily dispatch enemy, special, or even boss ... moreover, with a good planning, I CAN STAY FOREVER IN THAT TRAINING WORLD ... which end up boring as hell ...)

      Delete
    4. ...
kinda forget to add, if you use Mirage Jar, you can continue at the floor you just left using that Mirage Jar (the Map get reset and randomized again, and so the Green Distortion, if there's any)

    6. The possibilities for the 10th, 20th, 30th, etc. of all of the various levels has been documented on the japanese wiki:

      Marane's Maw
      http://www20.atwiki.jp/yumina/pages/30.html

      Mizelt Tomb
      http://www20.atwiki.jp/yumina/pages/31.html

      Key to Heaven Irukaruo
      http://www20.atwiki.jp/yumina/pages/32.html

      Path of Cracks
      http://www20.atwiki.jp/yumina/pages/33.html

The pages are organized by the game difficulty (Normal has floors 10, 20, 30; hard 40, 50, 60...). For each floor, there are 3 possibilities, 2 general for the difficulty and one specific to the exact number of floor. Use process of elimination based off of your starting position to figure out which one you're on.

As for understanding the various iconography of the level maps, this is what I know:

Empty colored square: it is what it is (empty green square is actually a green distortion)
      S: starting position
白: white, meaning a distortion that does nothing
      紫: purple, regular enemy
      橙: orange, rare enemy

I've just been using Google Translate and trial and error, but have been able to use the page to good effect. If you have questions or trouble with it, post here.

      Delete
    7. Whoops, forgot to mention:

The color of the square on the map is what it looks like. So a green square with 紫 is a distortion that looks green, but is really an enemy.

      Also, 黄: yellow, treasure

    1. For now, this is mainly a walkthrough involving the steps needed to get the optional h-scenes. From what posters have said, the route you go on depends on who you spend your "free/optional" days with, and whose event you do during the free event between morning and afternoon on day 6 in chapters 1 and 2.

As stated, this walkthrough is a work in progress as I go along the game. I'll be updating the further I go along and adding to it.

  23. the day off events decide who you end up with in chapters 6-8 so while they seem pointless in the first 4 chapters they are very important to the second half since as far as i can tell 7 and 8 are completely diferent depending who you spend those events with(im on my 2nd playthru so i can confirm that in a day or 2 lol)

    1. the first time you can have too little approval before the boss fight is in chapter 7.......best way to get enough aproval durign the boss fight is to kill 3/4 enemies off the sit there spamming yumina smile/heals till you get enough approval(c1-3 on c4 let her heal abit and only attack with main ability till you get 80+ approval)

i would like to ask what this luck items(four leaf clover and rabbits foot) actually do though

    2. I'm pretty sure darkseid touched on it, but Yumina gets an ability that increases approval rating. I had issues with my rating in chapter 3, so I spammed that ability till I was way over the required then mowed down the enemies.

Let me know if you need the ability name and I'll pull it up for you.

    5. try spamming ai's Piercing Choice of Words. it give you 11% of approval rate if im not mistaken. Kirara's sincere brainwashing gives you 5%. so its 16% per turn. if it still dont work, try not to spam heal/backyard attacking skill so often as it reduce approval by around 3%.
Letting the healer survive also works in your benefits.

      Delete
    6. if you dont over grind the training world you should easily have 100% approval by the time you win every boss fight... i mean i never bothered spamming un necisary moves to build approval and i have had 100% on every boss fight so far (on chapter 4 in my second playthru and still have yet to have a problem with approval)
the big thing is not to overlevel because while one shots may seem like a good plan it is actually better to be underleveled for the bosses (for example i had no problem with the shrine maidens on hard where i was lvl 32 and they where lvl 39) you gain allot more exp underleveled and you wont run into problems with approval rating (also if you intentionally lose a boss fight you can replay that chapter from the start with everything u gained during it this is a good way to get all the cutscene skills)

      Delete
    7. ignore the part about losing boss fights to replay that wont keep the skills earned thru events it only keeps level progress and possibly training items

    9. The luck stat is used in dungeon's. It determines the number and quality of drops you get from creatures you fight. If you're stuck fighting monsters under your level for abilities you need, it would be worth it to stack luck and minimize how much grinding you need to do.

    3. no you can only have 1 of each equiped, u can have healing alone and recovery alone(42 uses) which costs more green but is so stronger to the point where lvl 4 healing alone < lvl 3 recovery alone (sadly its a dungeon drop so you'll have to spam inspect to get it :/)

      1. your trying to equip a lvl 2 skill when you only have one point in instant strike
      2. your trying to use a enchanted version of pyrosplit that uses another skill as well(retreat for example)

    2. talking about enchanted skill, could any one explain what drain, protect and trample means?

      Delete
    3. TRAMPLE - Reduces the effectiveness of enemy special defense abilities.

DRAIN - Converts a portion of the damage dealt into HP.

COUNTER - Deals damage to the attacker equal to a percentage of the attack skill’s raw power before defense skills take effect. This damage cannot reduce the attacker’s HP to less than 1.

SHIFT - Restores the defender’s HP by an amount equal to a percentage of the attack skill’s raw power before defense skills take effect. This healing takes place after damage, Shift does not protect characters from lethal attacks.

PROTECT - Protection from a color provides additional defense against skills of that color.

BLAST - This skill can cancel enemy skills of equal or lower level.

ANTI-BLAST - This skill is immune to Blast skills.

DIS-INTERRUPT - While this skill is active, the unit is immune to all backyard skills. (The unit is still affected by backyard skills that activate at the start or end of turn.)

ATTACK ALL - This skill hits all enemy units.

DEFEND ALL - When the unit equipping this skill is in the Forward position, this skill defends all allied units from damage.

HEAL ALL - This skill heals all friendly units.

ADVANCE - After this skill resolves, the unit will move to the Forward position.

RETREAT - After this skill resolves, the unit will move to the Backyard.

ATTRACT - This skill forces the target into the Forward position.

EXCLUDE - This skill forces the target into the Backyard.

BIND - While this effect lasts, the target unit may not change position.

ANCHOR - While this defense skill is active, the unit is immune to Attract and Exclude.

  32. Setting/"The Soft Serve Principle

    what does that mean?

and do you have to do something spesfic on the training days?

and how many levels do you need to gain on each day etc

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It means that on that day, you need to do the Setting event named The Soft Serve Principle (You should see the name when you hover over the icon) When I have stuff like that in parenthesis, it's because there are several choices in the same area (E.G. classroom) on that day, so you can know which one you need to pick. If theres no parenthesis, it's the only selection in that area.

You don't have to do anything specific on the training days, but I recommend doing the main quest in the Ordacle if there is one, and doing the quests picked up at the inn for exp and money.

What levels you need to gain depends. At the end of each chapter, I've put in the notes the recommended level you should be for the final fight. So say you're in Chapter 2 and are currently level 9, and my notes recommend being level 13, you should try and gain 4 levels in training if you're only doing/only can do one training day. It just depends on the chapter and your current level reflected against the recommended.

Although, if you are underleveled and lose the main fight, you restart the chapter as the level you were before, so you shouldn't feel pressured to grind a ton of levels in one trip.

      Delete
    2. actually it is "meeting", i dont comment about this before since i think everyone should have figure it out by themselves

  33. As a note to anyone playing through the story again, and wishing to see the hscenes again, here are the conditions to view Himari, Nayuta, and the twin's scenes in their given chapter:

    1) You MUST complete all of the events required to obtain Ayumu's special attack for that character. Simply having the attack from a previous playthrough and using it in the final confrontation is NOT enough. (Tested in Ch 3)

    2) Once the skill is acquired, you MUST use a skill of that name in the fight. Note that this means that you can use the lower level skill acquired in a previous playthrough. This makes it easier to see the scene, as the requirements for the lower level skill are far lower (LV 2 Absolute Horizon uses 67 red, while LV 5 Absolute Horizon uses 115 red). (Tested in Ch 4)

As long as both of these conditions are fulfilled, the hscene will trigger afterwards.

    1. Thank you so much for the information Paul, I'll put it in the walkthrough and credit you as soon as I can. I wasn't sure if skills carried over, but since you've verified, it should make it easier for people to go down alternate routes in other playthroughs.

      Delete
    2. The only thing to note about that, though, is that the storyline skills will (with a few exceptions) become almost obsolete in subsequent playthroughs. The scaling by skill level is extremely drastic, to the point where the LV 2 Absolute Horizon barely did any damage to Nayuta, despite being specialized to hurt her. In general, the skills you get in one playthrough are quickly going to be overshadowed by later skills. Only a few of the endgame skills from Kirara's route haven't suffered this for me, being in Ch 7 of Ai's on hard at this point. Thus, attempting to assemble a complete collection of all the skills isn't really effective, as skills acquired in normal will lag really far behind in hard, and their limited number of uses makes extended dungeon crawling difficult. It's probably better to attempt to collect the skills you find useful in each playthrough and use the most recent versions. Especially in terms of Ayumu's special skills, you will quickly acquire normal skills of comparable value either from the store or dungeon crawling. And given how the combat changes in the second half of the routes, the special effects of the attacks don't come into play easily. Then again, several of the specials look really cool, so I have found myself using them for that reason alone...

Anyway, I just thought I should share some of my observations. Obviously, this all comes down to your preferred play style, but it isn't worth attempting to build up a huge repertoire of skills early, considering how heavily they'll be outclassed later.

I believe: the maximum level for skills that unlock events are: Sister Blade level 7, Independent Heart and Absolute Horizon level 8. When I got to use the Sister Blade I killed Rei with hitkill. also occurred the event of Tomori (cgs). detail, I'm on my fourth game play. A good tip is to use old skills or buy skills level 1 selling in School Store. detail, I will kill anyone in school with hitkill of Kirara's Tyrant Aurum level 3. If you only have skill level 9 or level 10, you probably will not have "audienci Chg" enough even to blink.

    5. One more thing, when you play the second time at the highest level of difficulty. Levels of enemies remain the same. Then you find Maino (60 +) at the same level as before. That's what makes it so difficult to use high levels of skills. What I mean is: enemies always have the same levels in each difficulty mode.

      Delete
    6. I made a mistake, You are correct Paul, or perhaps the skill Independent Heart reaches level 9 and Absolute Horizon to.

      Delete
    7. I disagree in a sense(to Paul). Near the end of a playthrough your chosen female will earn a couple abilities that far outclass anything they can get in that difficulty level, and should last at least halfway into the next level of difficulty.

Therefore, if you were going for a perfect save, you'd do super hard playthroughs of all three females to get their max level end-game abilities.

I have yet to lose to her in a fight. But I always Fail because of approval rating requirements. Highest I have gotten was like a 75%.

After that go all out ! but its also a good idea to make Yumina sing... it greatly increase the ratings
well you can beat Nayuta with Absolute Horizon skill if you quickly hit her with it twice....
      (each attack causes 2500 damage).
Suggested levels is around lvl 17 or 18
I manage to beat her at lvl 15 but its a struggle so I suggest to raise your lvl to 18, so that you can proceed to the story much easier,
also keep updating your skill you'll need it on chapters 5 onwards
      Good Luck

    3. I beat her at lvl 15 and pretty much didn´t get damaged at all, i just kept using skills that used the audience rating she was going to use while keeping blue high ( ~90) and the rest low. She fumbled all the time and rating wasn´t a problem either. Only flaw is that i took quite some time

  36. Rillania, tks for the Walkthrough.
I can read in English, I am not good at writing. (Google translate)
I'm already at the maximum level. Then:
fatefully, after repeatedly resetting my abilities. found that: all abilities can only reach level 10.
I concluded that: the best way to level up in the game is to place all abilities at level 1, then leveling all abilities to level 2 then all to level 3 ... you will see this: when the chars are at level 13 (13 or 14) you will have all abilities at level 1. Arriving at level 23, all abilities at level 2. level 33 / abilities at level 3, at level 43> abilities at level 4. L: 63 / A: 6. L: 83 / A: 8 ... At level 100, almost all abilities at level 10 and the rest at level 9.
The best way to level up: Always buy the best rag bag, if possible. In Ordacles Dungeons: Avoid unnecessary confrontations until you reach the top floor of the dungeons currently open. taking with you many pots of miracle jars, pots of Hp (can not be used in combat), and pots to regain skills. (keep enough of them in the store). Quit Ordacle when the store is full, or when you are satisfied. On the top floor always have the best items and skills. some quests are impossible to complete (bug), you can exit and enter the same floor to kill the boss looper, the quest counter is locked at zero (this is the bug). And when you unlock the "Conclusion" mode, play it until you reach level 100.
Hope that helps and sorry for my ignorance to write in English.

  37. Well guys I ran into a monster problem
I picked Kirara twice and got Yumina's ending.
Can I have a game save to see the ending?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Unfortunately, not really. The events after chapter 5 are radically different between the characters. Stuff that happens in Ai's route is entirely different from Kirara's, for example. The game is designed so that you do a new game plus from the end of the route that you finish first, until you get through all three. Which of course, means you need to do the student council war at least three times. As far as I can tell, the only real reason that you have to do the war again each time is because your choices there affect which route you get on. Just remember, it's a combination of getting the skills AND the free day conversations with the character whose ending you want to see. The free day conversations alone are NOT enough, if you don't get that character's skills.

      Delete
  38. Another note, depending on what ability you raise for each character it affects the type of your weapon evolution (Offense/Defense/Balanced/Ethereal). There are two types of weapon evolution;one is by leveling up i.e level 1, 11, 21 and so on another is by the abilities.

  39. Don't know if this has happened to anyone else but I was following the Alternate route's for my Hard play through and ended up on the Ai Route even though I picked Kirara on those free days. I haven't done Ai's route yet so I guess it's okay but I would of done her free days if I knew the Alternate route was going to set me with Ai no matter what. =/

  40. Hey, I just wanted to point out that after you finish then game you can then unlock the h-scenes for the girls on further play-throughs by simply using the appropriate skill in the boss battle. You don't need to go to the trouble of re-acquiring Ayumu's skills during your play-through unless you're actually trying to get the higher level skill.

    3. You need to get the Graduation ending. I guess you can consider this a bad route since you don't even go to space but if you want your last 3 Yumina CG then that's your path! To get on the Graduation route just make sure you pick a different heroine for each free day. I did Yumina, Ai, then Kirara then just waste your time doing training/shopping.

On a side note..anyone missing 2 space CG? I am missing 11 & 12. Don't really know what route I am supposed to be on to get those. I've seen what the CG looks like so from what I can tell it's a Yumina or Kirara route?

    1. Ayumu specializes in dealing high bursts of Spirit damage. He can also do offensive backyard support skills such as Accelerate One (increase Spirit Att) or Rising One (increase Logic Att).

Yumina specializes in support, but can very well be a forward due to her potential as a Spirit stat-based character. Only one in your party that can heal and can cast a variety of buff and protection skills.

Kirara is like Ayumu, only difference is that she specializes in Logic rather than Spirit damage. At level 100 (depending on what weapon upgrade you got) she has the lowest HP in the party, excluding HP-increasing items. As a backyard character, she casts skills that either damage the enemy Forward or damage the whole enemy party. She can also cast nasty debuffs.

Ai is a variable character. You can build her like a support (interrupts enemy spellcasts and can debuff), as a tactical Forward (nukes the enemy Forward and, at later levels, can gain skills that let her retreat after attacking) or as a tank.

Yumina is using Medical Alone, Medical All and Heartbeat Green.

Kirara is using Chain Stasis, Rebellion Soul (This you get it by completing her route I think) and Harsh Word.

Ai is using Hydro Blaster, Heartbeat Blue and Null Silencer(Mainly for boss's continuous skill).

I am now on Hard mode. No problem so far. Some skills can't be bought from the shop.

It helps to have at least 2 of your characters to equip the skill Heartbreak . Shuts down most of the enemy forward's attacks (and buffs) and boosts your preferred color. Though, the tactic is useless against Nayuta; she doesn't have a specific color to begin with.

    1. Have you beaten the game under all difficulty settings? (Easy, hard, etc) From what I've heard, you need to defeat the game at least once under every difficulty setting to get the true end.

      Delete
    2. This is how I worked my way through the game:

      Cleared Kirara's Route in Normal
      Ai's in hard
      Yumina in Super Hard
Finished Ordacle in super hard in chapter 2 (Rei)
      Cleared graduation ending

Do I need to clear the game in an heroine route in super hard after clearing the Ordacle?

      Delete
    3. Yes, I believe you actually have to finish the game completely with each difficulty setting, not just the Ordacle quest line; You do have to finish that as well, but it's both Ordacle and the heroine route, not just one or the other.

If you didn't finish the whole route under super hard mode, that's probably why you're not getting the True End.

      Delete
    4. No, that's not it, I got it now. I already cleared Yumina's route under Super Hard mode, like I said previously.

      "Cleared Kirara's Route in Normal
      Ai's in hard
      Yumina in Super Hard"

Here are the prerequisite to get true end:

You need to have the Six Items and then clear a girl's route in Super Hard. Getting all six items and clearing the graduation ending doesn't work.

Emerald Verse -> Clear Yumina's route
Obsidian Key -> Clear Kirara's route
Azure Light -> Clear Ai's route
Dimensional Crest: Acquired in Ordacle Missions(Story Quest). Can't be missed.
Royal Crest: Acquired in Ordacle Missons (Story Quest) Can't be missed.
Dragon Crest: Acquired when finishing the last Ordacle Mission (Story Quest),. Can't be missed.

Last Ordacle quest is in Super Hard.

Once you have all these items, you must clear a girl's ROUTE. Getting all the items then finishing with the graduation ending won't unlock true end.

      Delete
    5. Ahhh, for some reason I interpreted what you said as you just finished the Ordacle in Super Hard but didn't complete the route. Glad you got it working and good information to know on the items and the fact that you HAVE to finish Super Hard on a girls route with the items. =)

    6. By the way, I'll throw this here:

This is a collection of information I gathered online. On the wiki, in the comments of this blogspot. I didn't take anything from your blog, but I linked to your walkthrough. If you want to make use of anything I wrote, please do, but there are a few mistakes in the first post, corrected them further in.

It's pretty much everything I needed to know to clear the game. It should suffice for anyone wanting to get the true ending.

      http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/956053-yumina-the-ethereal/67403455

If you don't find some information in Rillania's blog or in the comments, I probably have it written.

By the way, Rillania, some info that can help getting the girl routes. Usually, getting the girl's skill for that chapter and meeting her on the holiday worked for me.

Here's what I did, using you walkthrough:

    8. Did my routes the same as Carana, but I unlocked the true end (I'm assuming you guys are talking about the Journal mode after finishing Conclusion) while I was at Super Hard mode in Yumina's route. 10. @ NitzkieX2 & Megaolix 1:

      Two things.

1: Your mileage may vary. There's not much info on the web, in english about Yumina. I wrote about what worked for me. So far we know that meeting the girls during the three days off is part of the equation. But that alone isn't enough from my experience and what I've read. You need to meet the girl you want during the weekdays as well. In addition, Rillania's paths are not absolute. They're, unless I'm mistaken, rewritten from a google translation of the Japanese wiki. They're efficient paths to get skills.

I found that by doing certain paths and visiting certain girls, I got certain route and wrote that. It works. Good for you if it worked another way. Mine is simple and efficient and based on what Rillania wrote so Rillania went with 'em. If you want to do a full proper walkthrough, contact me on Gamefaqs and we'll talk about proper credit if you wish to use what I wrote.

2: I've already written the full prerequisites for getting the true ending. Journal is unlocked after beating true end. It's all about the six items THEN clearing a girl's route. If you get the last item (Dragon Crest) while in the student council war in Super Hard then clear the graduation ending, you

The fact that you had to finish Ordacle in super hard was the easiest information found about Yumina. I don't see how people can think I didn't understand that, when I wrote a comprehensive guide.

My only mistake was to finish the Ordacle during a fourth playthrough (had some issues with Path of Crack Investigation quests, the next unlock when you beat boss of floor, not upon reaching and turning in) and trying to rush to graduation ending. Once I realized you needed to get all items and then clear a girl's route, I went back and rushed through Yumina's route in Super Hard. It worked. It's written on the Japanese wiki but the info isn't easily understood, Google translate made it hard to comprehend.

    12. Just for clarification: My walkthrough is an actual translation from the JP walkthrough. I couldn't make heads or tails of a quick google translate so I translated it and ran through the sequences in the game to make sure I understood them right. I'm still fairly new to Japanese so I couldn't make out some parts of the walkthrough, but from how I understood it, the website broke the walkthrough down in routes for skills rather than routes, which is why I put it up the way I did. There's some other interesting info on the walkthrough, supplementary info, that I'd like to get to some time. I have to use a JP dictionary from time to time to check kanji and romaji I don't have memorized or know, so my translating is somewhat slow.

    13. Instead of routes for the girls I meant.

    14. Exactly what I thought.

Well, I wrote about what worked for me. I tried to do Ch2 Main, Ch3 Main Ch4 Main and while I visited Yumina on the holiday, I got Ai's route. So I reloaded my Ch2 save, then did Ch2 Main, Ch3 Alt (no porn), Ch4 Main, and got Yumina's route. This is following Rillania's walkthrough.

I think it has to do with what skills you acquire during the council war. Holidays help, but it doesn't make everything, according to what I've read. People said they visisted a certain girl 3 time and then got another girl's route.

The system is not very well understood. Only thing I can say, it's all about getting the Ch (1) 2-4 skills for the girl you want to do the route of.

  52. No problem. If you have time and want to rewrite a bit and post up anything I've written about Yumina (from the Gamefaqs thread or here), it's yours.

Couldn't have made it without your walkthrough, I appreciate your work.

There isn't much information about the game on the Internet, so I've gathered up what I needed. With my Gamefaqs thread along with your walkthrough, it's pretty much all the info anyone could ever need to finish Yumina 100%.

  55. There's mention that Chapter 1 doesn't need any mentioning, though I found out through one of the jap sites mentioned in this threat that you need to do Chapter 1 twice and differently to get all the CGs you want.

At least, I think it does. Chapter 1's selection process is rather complex in and of itself. Either way, there is a way to do Chapter 1 without doing more than a single debate fight, but one of Yumina's CGs can only be gotten by doing all the speeches, which doesn't leave you enough time to do all the other encounters.

It's a subtle difference. It's about the CG in which Yumina stands in front of a group of students. There are 2 versions of it. The first one is from her disastrous first speech event. And then there's one with a much larger crowd in which Yumina is more self-assured.

    Just an FYI

  57. I would like to propose an alternate route for Chapter 2. I found this by a coincidence when going through Yumina's route.
    Day 1 : Clubroom, Clubroom
    Day 2 : Hallway, Roof
    Day 3 : Clubroom, Library
Day 4 : School Store, Clubroom (A Strict Hierarchy)
Day 5 : Clubroom (Rice Cookies), Clubroom (The Soft Serve Principle)

Day 6 : Library, Hallway (A Strange Girl)
Day 7 : Hallway (Eccentric PR), Old Building (Kirara's "Heart-Piercing Shadow")
    Day 8 : Library, Hallway
Day 9 : Clubroom (The Debate Club Alliance) (Yumina's "Crimson Shield of Unity"), Gym
Day 10 : Free (You can choose anything here), Library (Ai's "Piercing Choice of Words")

With this, you could get the three heroines skill in chapter 2. But of course, Ayumu wouldn't be able to get "Sister's Blade".

Also, this route could be done in an order different than this one. You don't have to completely follow my suggestion.

  59. Could someone help me, please? In order to get the level 10 versions of each character's ultimate skills you need to collect 3 important items each per character and then a quest will appear in Ordacle.

For example, for Ai you need the Blue Spirit Seal, Flowing Ice Seal and Seal of Turbulence. Then the quest "Knight's Seal" will appear at the tavern. Finishing the quest will net you "Excessive Force Lvl 10", "Indigo Liberation Lvl 10" and "Eternal Phantasm Lvl 10".

While I got the appropriate quests for Ai and Kirara, my problem is that I don't know when or where I got the items that let me get the quest in the first place. I'm missing 1 item for Ayumu and 2 for Yumina. Does anybody know where I can find them??

    Thanks in advance!
